Friday, May 7th, 2010 -- 11:50 AM

Forecasters say northern Wisconsin could see up to 3-4 inches of new snow tonight.

We're not expecting much more than a dusting here, but there?s a Winter Weather Advisory for parts of north central and northeastern Wisconsin.

Snow this late in the spring isn?t unprecedented, but it's pretty rare. And it seems even stranger because we?ve a mild spring?in fact, we haven?t had snow since February.

"It depends on different weather systems we have at the time. There's no real trend to what happens in the last two months and what happens in the next month after that. Pretty much anything can happen," he says.

Halbach says the rain should switch over to snow late this evening. Snow should fall until the early morning hours, but not much?if any?will stick to the ground around here.
