REP. WOOD CENSURED BY ASSEMBLY
Wednesday, April 21st, 2010 -- 10:43 AM
The state Assembly has reprimanded a lawmaker for three impaired driving arrests in less than a year.Rep. Jeff Wood (I-Bloomer) was arrested for driving under the influence on three separate occasions. He was just sentenced to 45 in jail for his first arrest, which was in Columbia County in December 2008. He faces the same charge in Monroe and Marathon counties.
Early Friday morning, Democrats amended a resolution to expel Wood. They decided to censure him. The amendment passed 73-24.
Censure is essentially a severe reprimand, but has no little consequences on Wood's pay or stature in the body.
