TRAIN VS. SEMI IN ALMA CENTER

A train collides with a semi near Alma Center leaving animal parts strewn over the road, but both the driver and the conductor walk away unharmed.It happened near STH 95 east of Alma Center around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
According to reports, a 41-year-old truck driver from Merrillann apparently didn?t notice the train as he was crossing the tracks on a dead-end road.
The 18-wheeler was dragged for several hundred feet, before the train was able to stop. The man worked for an animal by-products company, and his load spilled during the accident.
The train was traveling about 25-35 mph. Both operators were able walk away, but were taken to a local hospital as a precautionary measure.
The truck driver was cited for failing to yield.
