Wisconsin's Attorney General wants to join a lawsuit over the new federal health care reform legislation, but the Governor says 'no way'.J.B. Van Hollen announced Thursday that he thought the law, which will force people to buy health insurance in a few years, is unconstitutional.
In order to join the suit, he'd need permission from either the Governor or the state legislature.
Doyle quickly denied the request in a terse memo.
Doyle says the lawsuit is a "frivolous and political attempt to thwart the actions of Congress and the law of the country."
In the Democrat-controlled Legislature, a spokesperson for Assembly Speaker Mike Sheridan says there are no plans to authorize a lawsuit challenging the bill. Senate Majority Leader Russ Decker issued a similar statement.
