JUDGE: GET A HAIRCUT, AND A JOB
Friday, March 12th, 2010 -- 3:11 PM
A local judge has issued an interesting sentence for a rather run-of-the-mill crime.19-year-old Steven Strey of Thorp is charged with forging some checks, and stealing a relatively small amount of money from his parents.
On Thursday, he pleaded no contest to 3 misdemeanor counts of theft and forgery.
Judge Jon Counsell sentenced him to 120 days in jail, but the sentence was stayed, meaning he?ll only have to serve time if he screws up during his year-long probation.
The probation has some interesting provisions. Counsell directed Strey shave his goatee and get a standard 1 ?-inch haircut.
Counsell said the grooming would help him secure a job.
