HOMELAND SECURITY GRANTS SECURED FOR RADIOS

The Clark County Emergency Management Department was recently awarded a grant to replace outdated radios.The $70,819 grant from federal Homeland Security monies will help purchase 45 new radios for the Greenwood Police Department, Thorp Fire Department, Dorchester Fire Department and the Owen Police Department.
The new radios will replace portable, fixed or mobile radios that have fewer than 17 channels and cannot be reprogrammed to include 10 mutual aid channels for emergency response agencies.
