G'WOOD BOARD TALKS REFERENDUM, CO-OPS
Tuesday, February 16th, 2010 -- 10:36 AM
Now it?s really official. At a meeting Monday night, the Greenwood School Board approved a couple resolutions pertaining to their upcoming referendum.
As we told you in January, the board approved sending a revenue cap exemption referendum to voters on April 6th. If approved, the board could exceed the state-imposed cap by $500,000 for six years.
The exemption would be in place through the 2015-2016 school year.
The district is currently operating under a 5-year, $500,000 cap exemption that will expire at the end of the fiscal year.
Superintendent Dave Westhoff tells us the resolutions were passed on the advice of legal counsel just to confirm the wording that will appear on the ballot.
Also last night, the board approved a wrestling co-op with the Neillsville school district for the 2010-11 and 2011-2012 school years, and discussed the possibility of co-oping JV baseball and softball with Loyal and possibly Granton in the upcoming Spring season.
