OSSEO GETS STATE GRANT FOR BUILDING

The City of Osseo is getting some government help to build a new downtown municipal building.Governor Jim Doyle announced Monday that the Trempealeau County community will receive a $262,000 grant from the Community Development Block Grant?Public Facilities program of the Department of Commerce to help fund an 8,700-sq.-ft. building.
Construction of the building is already underway.
It will house a community/senior center, including space for meals and get-togethers, a city hall and police station, as well as provide a place for the local Historical Society to relocate their artifacts for display, storage and meetings.
Total project cost is $1.5 million.
