LIBRARY MULLS HISTORY ROOM
Monday, February 8th, 2010 -- 10:19 AM
A history room could be in the Neillsville Public Library?s future. It remains to be seen what the History Room will be, according to Library Director Jo Ann Gustavson.
"There are two different schools of thought on that," Gustavson explains, "it could be a research area with a microfilm reader and our Clark County Presses. The other thought is, some people think it's going to be a mini-museum."
Gustavson says the Library Board continues exploring the different options. They plan to hold a public meeting in March.
"If people have more of an idea of more of an idea of a museum-type history room, the library board is looking at if they should be involved in that. If it's more of a research-type room, of course the board feels they should be involved with that."
It?s still unclear where the room will be, but Gustavson says it won?t be in the basement, which doesn?t have humidity control and is used for the summer reading program.
