FDA SEIZES GROCERY ITEMS AT WESTERN WISCONSIN DISTRIBUTOR

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says it seized 1,500 cases of food stored under what it calls unsanitary conditions at a warehouse in Ellsworth.The FDA says the items were seized Tuesday at [url=http://www.midstatescloseouts.com/]Mid-States Closeouts[/url], a distribution warehouse.
U.S. Marshals seized all FDA-regulated human and animal food susceptible to rodent and pest contamination or other filth.
An FDA inspection in November and December found widespread rodent infestation, including numerous gnawed packages of human and animal food.
FDA officials tell us they're trying to determine where the products were sold.
Among the items seized were cases of individually bagged candy, jelly beans, biscuits and cookies, cappuccino mixes and tea, various snack items, and pet treats.
