Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010 -- 11:26 AM
The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture is reminding folks they?ll have their chance to sound off on changes to the Livestock Facility Siting rule, also known as ATCP 51.The rule became effective in 2006.
It establishes state standards that local governments must follow when issuing a permit or license for a new or expanded livestock operation.
The rule is up for review every four years. This time around, officials will focus primarily on state standards related to setbacks, odor and air emissions, manure and nutrient management, waste storage facilities, and runoff management.
One of the listening sessions will be held at the Town of Washington Town Hall Eau Claire County Tuesday, Feb. 23.
There will also be a listening session in Wausau on March 3.
