DECKER: FIRE 'EM ALL

After a disappointing hunting season, a powerful state senator thinks it's time for new blood in the DNR wildlife management unit.Senate Majority Leader Russ Decker (D-Weston) said Thursday DNR officials should fire anyone involved with deer management after the sub-par hunting season.
He believes the agency has gone too far in reducing the deer herd. The result: a hunt where many sportsmen and women didn't even see a deer, let alone shoot one.
According to preliminary figures, hunters killed about 195,000 deer during the 9-day season that ended Sunday. That's down 29 percent from last year.
