DNR TO HUNTERS: LOOK FOR DRUGS
Wednesday, November 18th, 2009 -- 11:34 AM
It seems more and more marijuana growers are turning to public lands to practice their trade.Several highly sophisticated marijuana operations have been found in recent years.
State and county forests provide miles and miles of wilderness area, and can't be seized if they're used to grow drugs.
They're usually well off the beaten path, so hunters are the most likely to stumble across them.
Wardens say, if they find something suspicious, they shouldn't put themselves in danger. Instead, leave the way they came, write down their location and other observations and contact authorities.
Some operations found in Wisconsin have booby-trapped.
