A fire earlier this week at a home in Neillsville rekindled twice today.
As we reported yesterday, around 8pm Sunday night (January 3rd), the Neillsville Fire Department received the report of a chimney fire at 612 E. 12th Street in Neillsville. When they arrived they saw a fire in the chimney of the home with heavy flames on the south side of the house.
The contents of the home are considered a total loss. The department was on scene for 2.5 hours, there were no injuries on their part, and they had the Neillsville ambulance service on standby.
Around 5am this morning (January 5th), neighbors noticed flames at the home again and called the Fire Department. A hot spot had rekindled and started the fire. The department was on scene for 2 hours.
Then around 10:20am this morning, the department received another call of a fire rekindled at the same home. In both instances, there were no injuries on their part. The department is working with the insurance company, but an exact cause still isn’t known at this time.
