WINTER WEATHER AWARENESS
Friday, November 13th, 2009 -- 1:52 PM
Ah? it might look decent out there now, but if you?ve lived in Wisconsin for awhile, you know things are going to change ? probably sooner than later. This is actually Winter Weather Awareness Week in the state.
Clark County Emergency Management Director Michelle Hartness says it?s a good time to plan for the not-so-nice weather that?s just around the corner.
"It's about families realizing they have to start planning," she says, "either putting kits in their car, that could include blankets and shovels. Also preparedness around the home. Making sure they have extra commodities on hand."
As the old saying goes: an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
Hartness says the CDC has an on-line checklist for winter preparedness.
