ANOTHER CREDIT CARD FRAUD VICTIM
Monday, October 26th, 2009 -- 11:37 AM
It appears a southern Clark County woman is one of the latest to get hit by a credit card fraud linked to a local fabric store.According to Clark County Sheriff?s Department dispatch logs, the Town of Sherwood woman reported last week someone had made four unauthorized purchases on her credit card. The bank caught it, but not before over $800 was rung up on her account.
The woman said she used the card at Hancock Fabrics in Marshfield.
A couple weeks ago, authorities urged anyone that may have shopped at Hancock Fabrics in Marshfield or St. Point in late August or September to contact their credit card company.
The Marshfield Police Department received numerous complaints from residents who noticed unauthorized withdrawals from their accounts.
The card numbers and PIN numbers may have been compromised when the store changed card readers.
