Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville is preparing for their 3rd Annual Family Health Expo this weekend.The event will be this Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
"It's one way that Memorial Medical Center can be part of the solution," explains Lora Wagner of MMC, "filling the gap, meeting the health care needs of people that don't have health insurance, or their deductibles are so high, they feel they don't have health insurance."
MMC is able to offer tests and screenings for free, or at reduced rates, thanks to corporate partners and the volunteer work of their staff.
The most popular offering is a comprehensive battery of tests.
"It's a package that usually costs hundreds of dollars, we offer it for $50. Then you go to the full physical screening, you get for free, 15-minutes of a physical screening," Wagner says.
There are plenty of other options available, too.
Screenings will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Women have the opportunity to schedule appointments for $100 mammograms.
They must have the free breast exam at the Expo before scheduling the mammogram appointment.
New this year, influenza vaccinations will be offered for $20.
