Neillsville Fire Department Responds to Chimney Fire

-The Neillsville Fire Department responded to a chimney fire Sunday night.

According to the department, the fire occurred at 612 E. 12th Street in Neillsville.  When they arrived they saw a fire in the chimney of the home with heavy flames on the south side of the house.  The contents of the home are considered a total loss.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, the department was on scene for 2.5 hours, there were no injuries on their part, and they had the Neillsville ambulance service on standby.
