G'WOOD MAN CHARGED IN ROAD RAGE INCIDENT

A Greenwood area man is charged after allegedly firing a gun during a road rage incident in Jackson County.According to the criminal complaint, 38-year-old David Scheffler was on his way home from the Warren?s Cranberry Festival on Sunday when something happened.
The alleged victims claim Scheffler almost struck their van and ran them off the road. It appears the incident escalated until Scheffler exited I-94, stopped and got out of his truck.
Words were apparently exchanged, and Scheffler got his handgun and shot twice. The victims claim he pointed the gun at them, before shooting into the air.
He says he felt threatened because the woman in the other vehicle said she was a champion skeet shooter, and threatened to shoot him.
Scheffler is charged with two counts of 2nd degree reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct, use of a dangerous weapon.
He?s free on a $10,000 signature bond and will next be in court on October 19th.
