KIND MIGHT RUN FOR GOVERNOR

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009 -- 10:34 AM

Now that Gov. Doyle has announced he will not seek a 3rd term, potential Democrat candidates are coming out of the woodwork.

Rep. Ron Kind (D-La Crosse) says he's considering a run, and will make a decision in the coming weeks.

State Sen. Jon Erpenbach says he is also considering running for the Democratic nomination. An aide says Democratic Lt. Gov. Barbara Lawton is planning to run for governor next year.

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk are among the other candidates expected to consider the race.

Two prominent Republicans are already running, Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker and former U.S. Rep. Mark Neumann.
