WOOD CO. CONSIDERS COMP. PLAN
Monday, August 17th, 2009 -- 12:29 PM
The Wood County Board of Supervisors will decide tomorrow whether to accept the proposed county comprehensive plan.According to the Marshfield NewsHerald, the county's comprehensive plan leaves designations general, allowing local municipalities the greatest amount of control.
Many counties are working on their plans, because, in 1999, the state enacted a requirement stating local zoning ordinances, subdivision ordinances, official street maps, shoreland ordinances or floodplain zoning had to be compliant with their comprehensive plan.
Last month, the Clark County board voted down a resolution that would have resurrected their planning process.
