Tuesday, August 4th, 2009 -- 1:49 PM
One of the area?s largest employers is trying to explain their decision to layoff 27% of its workforce.Last week, Marshfield DoorSystems said it would permanently layoff over 160 workers in September. That will whittle down the number of employees from around 600 to around 450.
Company officials say the move reflects poor sales forecasts for 2010.
Affected employees were notified Thursday through their respective unions.
