EARLY HOMECOMING NOT LIKELY FOR 32ND BRIGADE
Thursday, July 30th, 2009 -- 2:44 PM
There?s word today that some U.S. troops might get home early because conditions in Iraq are improving, but it doesn?t look like Wisconsin soldiers will be among them.Over 3,000 Wisconsin-based members of 32nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team are scheduled to be in Iraq through the end of the year.
Col. Steve Bensend said he?s pretty sure his Wisconsin soldiers won?t be among those coming home early.
Hundreds of Guard members from our area, including those based here in Neillsville, were deployed in February as part of the largest single overseas deployment of the Wisconsin Guard since World War II.
Their tour of duty is scheduled to end in January.
