Homicide Investigation Underway After Body Found North of Marshfield

(WDLB) A homicide investigation is underway in Marathon County after a body was found in the Town of Spencer just north of Marshfield Tuesday morning.

According to WDLB, trappers said they found the body near Abe Lincoln Avenue and Swamp Road, on the northern end of the McMillan Marsh State Wildlife Area.  Sheriff’s Department investigators determined that evidence points to the body being dumped in that location.

Officers are also asking for information about a black 2005 Chevy Impala with Wisconsin license plate A-H-T-6900, although investigators are not saying what bearing the vehicle has on the case.  No further details have been announced, and a cause of death remains under investigation.
