CONSTRUCTION BEGINS ON FINAL PHASE OF USH 10 PROJECT

Friday, July 17th, 2009 -- 3:16 PM

The final phase of a massive reconstruction of USH 10 from the Fox Valley to Marshfield is underway.

Governor Jim Doyle recently signed a $25-million contract to construct 5.5 miles of USH 10 between Wood County N and Long Road in Wood and Portage counties.

Crews will construct a new four-lane freeway, which includes overpasses at Portage County G and Portage County O and a new interchange with WIS 34 south. Other changes include some local road access modifications and closures.

Construction began Thursday and is scheduled for completion by November 2011.

Crews are constructing USH 10 on a new alignment. No impacts to existing US 10 are expected until 2011.
