LOCAL STIMULUS FUNDING ANNOUNCED

A State Senator is announcing $7-million in stimulus money is coming to Clark and Chippewa Counties.Senator Pat Kreitlow (D-Chippewa Falls) says a number of critical water and sewer projects will receive funding through state sponsored bonding with below market rates and direct grants from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
In our area, the City of Stanley will receive $2.2 million in federal funding and state bonding for a new sewer project.
The Village of Withee will receive over $1.7-million in ARRA funding and bonding to construct a new filtration system.
The City of Loyal will receive over $1.2-million in federal funding and state bonding to construct 3 new wells and pump-houses.
And the City of Colby will receive funding for two projects. They will receive $102,307 that will build a new well and treatment system. And another $143,133 in ARRA funding for improvements along HWY 13.
