CONCERTS IN THE PARK BACK IN GREENWOOD
Saturday, June 20th, 2009 -- 7:43 AM
It?s the perfect way to spend a small town Wednesday evening.Greenwood?s ?Concerts in the Park? are back this July.
Nancy Dean is one of the organizers. She says the concerts have been a tradition for over 20 years?
"There just so well liked by everyone. Just a free evening in the park. Pleasant," Dean says. "I solicit a group to do a pie and ice cream social at the same time."
The concerts are held every Wednesday at 7:30 in the Greenwood City Park, which has a new bandstand, sponsored by Grassland Dairy.
Everybody?s welcome, and you really don?t need a lot of preparation.
"Bring a couple dollars for pie and something to sit on, that's about it," Dean says.
The performers run the gamut from Jim Pekol and the Richie Yurkovich Orchestra to ragtime pianist Jim Radloff and the East Hill Bluegrass Band.
We?ve posted the concerts on our calendar page.
