LOYAL AXES BUS ROUTE
Thursday, May 28th, 2009 -- 11:30 AM
You?ll have to wake up pretty early in the morning to beat some Loyal kids to the school bus next year. The TRG this week reports the Loyal School Board has already started making some cuts to fix their projected $200,000 budget deficit. The first is the elimination of a school bus route. It could save around $40,000, but will come with some inconvenience.
Some kids on the southeast side of the district will have longer bus rides. It?s possible some students will have to board the bus at 6:35 a.m.
Superintendent Graeme Williams also offered other ideas to the board, including cuts to the junior high and C-team athletic programs, reduced computer purchases and the overall maintenance budget.
