UNEMPLOYMENT DECLINES IN APRIL

Wisconsin's unemployment rate dropped slightly in April.New figures from the state Department of Workforce Development show the unemployment rate last month was 8.8%, down from 9.4% in March. The agency estimated about 17,000 more people had a job in April than in March.
Goods producers added 1,600 jobs and services producers added 9,900 jobs in April.
The national unemployment rate in April was 8.6%, down from 9% in March.
