LOYAL SCHOOL BOARD DISCUSSES BUDGET
Thursday, May 21st, 2009 -- 10:25 AM
The Loyal School Board held some brief discussions about next school year?s budget Wednesday night.Superintendent Graeme Williams says there are plenty of unknowns at this time, because the state is still trying to figure out how to fix their huge, $6.6-billion, budget deficit. Their solution will likely include cuts to school funding, but some of those may be offset by stimulus funding for education.
Williams says the board will likely take some action during their June meeting.
District voters turned down a revenue cap exemption referendum last month.
Williams says their projected deficit is somewhere around $200,000.
