H1N1 UPDATE

The H1N1 virus might be running out of steam. That's what state and federal health officials are telling local health departments.The Clark County Public Health Department held a conference call with school officials, law enforcement and health care representatives Thursday to bring them up to speed on the latest developments with the Swine Flu Outbreak.
Jessica Thomsen with the health Department said Clark County has had eight suspected cases, but five tested negative, two others weren't even sent for further testing and one remains pending.
'Suspect case' is defined as someone:
[list][*]with a fever that's either traveled to Mexico or the southwestern part of the U.S.[*]has had contact with a confirmed case of H1N1[*]that's had close contact with someone with a fever, that's traveled to an infected region of Mexico or the U.S.[/list]
At last count, the state of Wisconsin had 176 probable cases, 26 confirmed cases in at least 13 counties.
Thonsen said experts are beginning to thing the virus may have run its course.
"The state said it's expected to go on another week or two. Mexico is on the downslope of H1N1. The CDC thinks the U.S. will follow that," Thomsen reported.
