Neillsville Chamber of Commerce Invites Everyone to Enter the 2026 Holiday Decorating Contest

The Neillsville Area Chamber of Commerce invites residents and businesses to brighten the holiday season by entering the 2026 Holiday Decorating Contest, proudly supported by major  sponsor Moraine Motel.

The contest features two divisions: commercial window decorating and residential holiday light decorating. Entry is free and open to locations within the Neillsville School District.

Registration opens November 1 and closes Sunday, November 29, at www.neillsville.org/holiday-decorating-contest. From festive storefront windows to homes glowing with holiday lights, the contest celebrates local creativity while giving families another reason to explore the community during the holiday season.

All displays must be complete by Sunday, December 6. New this year, participants will submit their own display photo by Tuesday, December 8, at 9 p.m. One photo will be used in the official contest post, and participants may share additional viewpoints in the comments.

Judging will take place December 11 through December 20. Final scores will consist of 25 percent Facebook voting, 25 percent website voting and 50 percent scoring by out of town judges.

Displays will be evaluated on creativity and originality, overall visual impact, holiday spirit, neatness and presentation. Community members are encouraged to visit participating displays in person and vote for their favorites during the judging period.

Residential holiday light division winners will receive $300 for first place, $150 for second place and $50 for third place, awarded in Neillsville Area Chamber Gift Certificates. Winners will be announced December 24.
