Marshfield Common Council Continued Review of Proposed 2027 City Budget

The Marshfield Common Council continued its review of the proposed 2027 City budget during a special meeting on October 29.

The Council approved several adjustments, including removing $56,000 in funding for the Marshfield Area Chamber Foundation and directing the development of a service-based funding agreement.

The Council also reduced proposed funding for Main Street Marshfield from $40,000 to $25,000 by removing $10,000 for planters and $5,000 for a strategic plan. In addition, the Council approved deferring an $11,250 Certified Survey Map project at the Central Wisconsin State Fairgrounds until 2028.

Following the adjustments, the Council voted 5–3 to accept the changes and authorize publication of the revised proposed budget ahead of the November 24 public hearing. Final adoption of the 2027 City budget remains pending.
