DATCP Invites Homeowners and Rentes to Sign Up for 2027 Landscape Pesticide Registry
Friday, October 30th, 2026 -- 8:00 AM
The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) invites homeowners and renters to sign up for the 2027 Landscape Pesticide Registry from November 1, 2026 through February 1, 2027.
Registrants of the Landscape Pesticide Registry receive advance notice from commercial lawn care companies that apply pesticides to lawns, trees, and shrubs to nearby property. Members of the public can submit addresses that they want to receive notification for that are located on your block or adjacent blocks.
There is no cost to register, and those wishing to be notified of nearby pesticide application must re-register every year. To register online or to download and submit a paper application by mail, visit DATCP's Landscape Pesticide Registry webpage.
The Landscape Pesticide Registry will start March 15, 2027, when pesticide applicators are required to notify registrants at least 12 hours in advance of treating nearby properties with pesticides. The registry applies only to commercial landscape applications.
The registry does not apply to:
- Homeowners or landlords who do their own pesticide applications
- Pesticide applications to the inside or outside of buildings, including around a workplace, school, or daycare center
- Pesticide use in agriculture
“Pesticide" is a broad term that can include herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides. To learn more about the Landscape Pesticide Registry, visit DATCP's Landscape Pesticide Registry webpage.
The registry is a service offered by DATCP. For the 2026 growing season, over 4,500 addresses were registered to receive notice.
