NEILLSVILLE F.D., DNR FIGHT FIRE

The Neillsville Fire Department was called to the scene of a grass fire Sunday afternoon.Fire chief Matt Meyer says the fire was reported at around 3 p.m. It was located at W6966 Bush Rd. in the Town of Levis, south of Neillsville. The land is owned by the Ho Chunk Nation.
The fire was spreading into a nearby woods, but crews were able to contain it quickly. It caused minor damage to a building.
The DNR provided assistance, including an air tanker.
