Wisconsin Polls Open for Early In-Person Absentee Voting

Wednesday, October 21st, 2026 -- 2:00 PM

(Wisconsin Radio Network) Wisconsin polls open early Tuesday for in person absentee voting.

According to the Wisconsin Radio Network, Wisconsin Elections Commission Administrator Meagan Wolfe says early returns on absentee ballots show more people may be coming in to vote in person.

Wolfe says disruptions in mail delivery of absentee ballots and long lines on Election Day may be the cause. WEC reports around 173-thousand mail in ballots have been received by clerks, out of 365-thousand requested.

That’s down from the 2022 General Election, and Wolfe says it may signal more voters making it to the polls early to beat long lines on Election Day.
