(Wisconsin Radio Network) Wisconsin and a region of France are forming a new partnership.
According to the Wisconsin Radio Network, Governor Tony Evers has signed an agreement establishing a sister-state relationship between Wisconsin and the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté (boor-gony fronch comb-tee) region of France.
The deal marks Wisconsin’s first new sister-state partnership in 36 years and its seventh overall. State officials say the agreement will strengthen cooperation in agriculture, biohealth, manufacturing, clean energy and higher education.
The partnership grew out of a trade mission to France and Germany last year and is intended to expand economic and educational opportunities on both sides of the Atlantic.
