PLEA DEAL IN CHILD SEX ASSAULT CASE

A former Granton woman will serve 90 days in jail after reaching a plea agreement on sexual assault charges.45-year-old Sharon Vandeberg was charged with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old boy back in 1997.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim was a friend of Vandeberg?s son. He said he had kept the assaults a secret because he felt guilty.
Police say Vandeberg admitted to the incidents, on a taped phone call, telling him to quote, "get over it".
Under the agreement, Vandeberg pleaded no contest to three 4th-degree sexual assault charges. The charges are misdemeanors; she had faced one felony count of repeated sexual assault of a child.
Vandeberg will spend 90 days in jail and 3 years on probation.
