Black River Falls School Board Member Recognizes Two with Board Commendation

During the Black River Falls’ September 21st school board meeting, the Board recognized Jordan and Stephanie Nortman with a Board Commendation.

Jordan and Stephanie have created and continue to facilitate a community group that is intended for parents of students with extra needs. The group meets at the Lunda Community Center and is meant to be an inclusive, judgment-free space for parents and caregivers.

They aren't screening anyone, requiring a particular diagnosis, or deciding whose circumstances qualify as an "extra need." If you feel like you could benefit from connecting with other parents and caregivers who may be navigating relatable experiences, you're welcome. 

While the District isn't involved in the group, they are happy to highlight when the activities are happening as a means to spread the word. Jordan and Stephanie are fantastic supporters of public education in general, and specifically created this space to bring families together and build community.
