Neillsville Public Library Holding "Meet the Author" Event with a Local Thorp Author

Thursday, October 1st, 2026 -- 10:00 AM

The Neillsville Public Library is holding a “Meet the Author” event on November 2nd from 6pm-8pm.

B.E. Thidemann, a local Thorp author, has always been a creator at heart. Whether it’s through a camera lens, a paintbrush, or the written word, she has spent her life finding beauty in the details. Her journey as an author began in the first grade when a teacher bound one of her stories into a small hardcover book.

Holding that book and seeing her name on the spine planted a dream that stayed with her for nearly 50 years before she had the courage to step out of her comfort zone and share her writing with the world. While many writers find inspiration in the world around them, B.E. also finds interesting plot lines in her sleep.

A vivid dreamer with an imagination that never rests, she often wakes up with new story ideas, mining her subconscious for the simmering tension and emotional stakes that drive her characters.

Her debut novel, Heart of Stone, is the first gripping installment in the KC Stone series. It’s a story filled with the kind of relatable characters and unexpected plot twists that keep readers up too late saying, “just one more chapter.”

Breaking Stone, the second book in the KC Stone series, will be available in 2027. When she’s not writing, the author enjoys reading, photography, kayaking, hiking, exploring national and state parks, and spontaneous road trips.

She also treasures time visiting with her adult children and having long conversations with friends in local coffee shops.
