Medford Man Cited for OWI After Vehicle Pursuit in Fond du Lac County

(WBAY) -A Medford man who was out on bond was taken into custody and cited for an OWI and several other violations after a short pursuit on Sunday.

Just after 4 p.m. on Sunday, the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a car on Military Road, near W. 9th Street, in the City of Fond du Lac for a traffic violation. The driver of the car sped up, and authorities began a vehicle pursuit, which ended after a half-mile when the driver turned down a dead-end road. The driver, a 29-year-old Medford man, was taken into custody and is being held at the Fond du Lac County Jail on charges of Felony Flee/Elude and misdemeanor Bail Jumping.

He was cited for Operating Without a Valid License, Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign, Possession of Open Intoxicants, and Operating While Intoxicated - First Offense. The man was out on a $500 cash bond from Taylor County for Disorderly Conduct and Endangering Safety - Use of a Dangerous Weapon, both of which have domestic abuse enhancers. Nobody was hurt during the pursuit, and no property was damaged.
