UW-Stevens Point Rated Among the Best Public Universities in the Midwest

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point has again been rated among the best public universities in the Midwest, according to U.S. News and World Report.

UW-Stevens Point was rated 14th among regional public universities in the 12-state Midwest region, according to the magazine’s 2027 rankings. The key factors for the placement were a high graduation rate, a high percent of full-time faculty members, faculty salary rank, financial resources rank and a strong peer assessment by peer institutions.

The university also ranked 8th among the Best Value Schools for In-State Students and among the Best Value Schools in the region for its relatively lower tuition and its high percentage of need based aid in the form of grants and scholarships.

“We are helping our students afford their college education,” said Chancellor Bob Brinkmann. “More than 92% of in-state students receive aid in grants or scholarships, making the net cost low. With our growing program offerings, investment in new facilities and engaging faculty and staff who care about student success, UWSP is truly a good value.”

U.S. News and World Report also recognized UW-Stevens Point among the best colleges for veterans, as the university offers a robust set of programs and services for its nearly 300 enrolled veterans, including the Yellow Ribbon program, an active Veterans Club and personal advising from a full-time Veterans Services coordinator.
