Clark County Sheriff's Department Discontinues Use of Flock Cameras
Friday, September 18th, 2026 -- 12:00 PM
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office has discontinued the use of flock cameras.
A post on Facebook from Clark County Sheriff Kerry Kirn reads: “On September 10, 2026, I notified Flock Safety that the Sheriff’s Office was canceling its contract and discontinuing the program in Clark County."
"As Sheriff, I have a responsibility both to provide our deputies with effective tools to keep our communities safe and to listen to the people we serve. I heard the concerns expressed by Clark County residents regarding the use of this technology, including concerns about privacy, and I took those concerns seriously.”
“After considering those concerns and evaluating the use of Flock cameras in Clark County, I determined that discontinuing the Flock system was the appropriate course for our community."
"I appreciate the residents who took the time to ask questions and share their views. Public trust is essential to effective law enforcement, and that trust requires us to listen to the people we serve.”
