(Wisconsin Radio Network) September is College Savings Month in Wisconsin.
According to the Wisconsin Radio Network, a proclamation from Governor Tony Evers serves as a reminder for families to start or continue saving for future education costs through the state’s 529 College Savings Program. Funds can be used for college, technical school, apprenticeships, and some K-through-12 expenses.
Contributions grow tax-free when used for qualified education costs, and Wisconsin taxpayers may qualify for state tax deductions. More information is available through the Edvest 529 and Tomorrow’s Scholar savings plans.
