Wisconsin Department of Justice Pushing for Tougher Anti-Robocall Rules

(Wisconsin Radio Network) The Wisconsin Department of Justice is pushing for tougher anti-robocall rules.
According to the Wisconsin Radio Network, Attorney General Josh Kaul says current safeguards aren’t doing enough to keep scammers off the nation’s phone network. A multi-state coalition wants phone companies to do a better job vetting providers that route calls, increase monitoring, and strengthen caller ID authentication requirements.
The DOJ says Americans received nearly 30 billion scam robocalls and texts last year and lost almost two billion dollars to fraud.
