Withee Man Arrested After Domestic Dispute

(Katrina Lim, WEAU) -A man is in custody and facing a number of charges following a violent domestic dispute Thursday morning.
According to Katrina Lim with WEAU, online court records show 57-year-old Carl Hansen of Withee is facing 8 charges including:
- Attempt first degree intentional homicide, domestic abuse
- Strangulation and suffocation
- False imprisonment, domestic abuse
- Substantial battery, domestic abuse
- Disorderly conduct, domestic abuse
- Misdemeanor bail jumping
- Possession of a firearm – NGI of a felony
- Attempt misdemeanor battery
According to the criminal complaint, Hansen was arrested after Clark County deputies surrounded his school street residence. A woman said she was at the house to get her things. She said Hansen dragged and choked her until she blacked out.
Hansen is also accused of briefly choking another person that was there and who tried to intervene and call 911. Hansen was eventually convinced to surrender after the Clark County Emergency Response Team responded.
If convicted on the attempted homicide charge alone, Hansen can face up to 60 years in prison. Online court records show a $500,000 cash bond is set for Hansen and an initial appearance is scheduled for Sept. 25, 2026.
