City of Marshfield Holds Grounbreaking Ceremony for New Marshfield Police Department Facility

The City of Marshfield held a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, Sept. 2, marking the start of construction on the new Marshfield Police Department facility.

The new Police Department will be located at the former Wildwood Plaza, commonly known as the “Buffalo Building,” at 2510 S. Central Ave. City officials, members of the Common Council, Fire and Police Commission, Police Department staff, project representatives, state representatives and community partners gathered for brief remarks and the ceremonial groundbreaking.

The project will renovate the existing building and include new construction to provide improved space for Police Department operations, training, evidence storage, secure vehicle storage and other law enforcement needs. Construction will continue into 2027.
