Man Dies After UTV Crash in Stratford

(Erik Pfantz, Wausau Daily Herald) A 79-year-old man is dead following a UTV crash on private property in Marathon County.
According to Erik Pfantz with the Wausau Daily Herald, the Marathon County Emergency 911 Dispatch Center received a call at 8:22 a.m. on Aug. 29 regarding a single UTV crash on private property in the 117300 block of Forward Street in the village of Stratford, according to a news release from the Stratford Police Department.
Deputies from the Marathon County Sheriff's Office and wardens from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources responded to the scene and found the 79-year-old man unconscious but breathing and lying beside the UTV with life-threatening injuries, according to the release.
The man was taken to a local hospital where he later died due to his injuries, according to the Stratford Police Department. The man was the only person on the UTV, according to the release.
The DNR led the investigation and was assisted by the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office and Stratford EMS.
