It was a busy weekend for the Neillsville Fire Department. They had two calls on Saturday and one on Sunday.

They were first called to a grass fire at around 3:26 p.m. on Saturday. It was located at N2177 River Avenue in the Town of Levis. Around two acres burned. The crew received assistance from the DNR and spent about one hour at the scene.

The next call came in at around 7:33 p.m. It was a report of a one vehicle roll over at 73 and Strubel Rd., just south of Neillsville.
The crew spent around 20 minutes on the scene. One subject was initially transported by ambulance to Memorial Medical Center and then airlifted to Marshfield.
No other information was available.

Then, at 5:02 p.m. yesterday evening, they were called out to tend to some burning hay bales. The property owner at N1197 Mead Ave. in the Town of Levis accidentally set fire to some round bales while welding.
The blaze threatened some structures, but the crew was able to prevent significant damage.
They spent just over 1 hr. on the scene.
