City of Wisconsin Rapids Holding Public Hearing on Condition Use Permit for Data Center on September 16th

The City of Wisconsin Rapids Planning Commission will hold a public hearing regarding an application from DC Rapids LLC for a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) to construct a data Center at 950 Fourth Ave. N.

The Planning Commission will discuss and act on the conditional use permit, making a recommendation to the Common Council. The public hearing will be held on September 16, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. within the Performing Arts Center at Lincoln High School, 1801 16th St. S., Wisconsin Rapids.

Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. The public is encouraged to participate. To maintain order, those who would like to provide comments regarding the CUP application will be asked to register at the table setup outside of the auditorium.

During the public hearing, Mayor Zacher will call speakers up to the microphone. Comments are limited to three minutes. Comments may also be submitted prior to the hearing by contacting the Community Development Department at 715-421-8228, [email protected] or by mail at:

In addition to the CUP, the Planning Commission will discuss and consider the site plan review request for this project. The site plan review request does not require a public hearing.

The public may view the Conditional Use Permit (CUP) application and site plan review materials on the City’s papermill redevelopment webpage, under the header “Next Steps for 2026 Data Center Project Request”: www.wirapids.gov/612/Papermill-Redevelopment. The Planning Commission will not have their regularly scheduled meeting in September, typically scheduled on the first Monday of each month.
